I absolutely love the Telum shock on my Enduro. I've already taken it to multiple bike parks here in Salt Lake City and to Whistler for 6 days. The increased traction and confidence it gave, thanks to the shock's predictability, were truly remarkable. I was hitting things at higher speeds than before. I didn't have to touch a setting. Paired with the Smashpot on my Zeb, the bike is super planted and smoother in the braking bumps and chatter. The Telum is such a superior shock to all the coils I have used in the past. Forbidden Dreadnought E and a Telum, what a combination. The back end of the bike feels invisible, and is just there. No drama, no fuss. Coming off drops it feels damped perfectly, and steep chunky trails are so much more predictable. Love it! Read more Show less

Mounted a Telum to a Forbidden Dreadnought, which previously had the Rockshox Vivid Air Ultimate. I just got back from 6 days racing in Scotland, and the bike really livened up with the Telum. The rear is now way more supple on the chatter, and tuned well to deal with harsh bottom out. I'm stoked on the switch, and how the Telum has improved the performance of the bike. Read more Show less

My Telum is mounted to a Forbidden Supernought and replaced the stock Super Deluxe Coil that was ridden for two seasons. The difference was significant - the Telum is much more "composed" (for lack of a better word), with better small-bump compliance while making the most out of the travel on tap. Read more Show less

Such a great shock. From the initial tuning, first ride impressions and the preset settings being pretty much spot on, I can only recommend this shock. I literally sped the rebound up 1 click from their recommended settings. I have it on a mid travel bike, now I want one for my Enduro bike! Great shock!! Read more Show less

Three weeks ago, arrived my brand new Telum and I was so nervous for my first ride! The Telum replaces a Fox Float X performance elite on my Orbea Rallon (my2024) which was not performing really bad, but its performance was changing on long descents when it becomes warm and it was on its limit when the rear wheel gets one hit after the other. So I was looking for an alternative and I found it - it should be the Telum because the test results, reviews and all the informations on the homepage convinced me. My expectations were high, because its valving is customized to the kinematics of the bike, all settings are adapted to my personell preferences, to my riding skills and finally to my age! The only thing that wasn't taken into account was my budget... But - now I can say it was worth it!!! The performance on the trail is really convincing, the small bump sensibility is great and big hits loosing its scare. On the other side it has a nice pop and you are able to fly over root sections, even though it isn't necessary to do this... The rear suspension runs so smoothly, that I have to improve the fork now;-) And by the way - it looks so cool, it's a masterpiece of mechanical engineering! I love the style of this damper and it's an optical upgrade for the bike as well! Now I am waiting for a Vorsprung Fork, with steel spring and single crown in black or maybe in violet! This shock is amazing. I’ve had ext, push and lots of air shocks. This is the best one yet. Very controlled and predictable. It is poppy and yet absorbs anything in a controlled fashion. The only problem is it’s hard to get the fork to match how awesome the shock is. Read more Show less

Little about me first...im essentially a beginner after a nearly 20 year hiatus off a mtb so I recognize that my experience in shocks is very limited. That said I purchased a new 2023 norco sight A1 in may of this year, with the super deluxe "megneg" air shock on it. I was happy with it....at first. Being a heavy guy (285 pounds on a good day) and as I got better (rode over 1100km so far this season) I quickly found it lacking. With 290 psi i was running over 40% sag on it and more importantly it felt hollow and unsupportive. Started looking into coil shocks and came across vorsprung. The telum is expensive, no getting around that, but I figured that if I bought an off the shelf "stock" shock, with my weight id need to get it tuned and a new spring which meant time off the bike chasing a tune and more money. While I didnt crunch exact numbers Im pretty sure it would have been as much if not more so I hit vorsprung and purchased a telum. 3 or 4 days passed when I recieved an email explaining that they didn't have a spring that would match the valving necessary at my weight. Several options were provided to include canceling my order and offering suggestions as to potential fixes for the megneg can. What kind of company does that these days?? One that cares about riding thats who...but I digress. Pulled the trigger on the telum with valving for a lower weight and the heaviest coil sprindex makes. MY GOD lol. Again...while I dont have the experience to compare the telum to a stock off the shelf coil, i find it hard to believe they could be much better than this. The difference between the megneg and this couldn't be any more. Where as the megneg felt hollow and chaotic at speed, the telum feels smooth and composed. The megneg made the bike feel unstable at speed in a lot of sections at my local park and I was struggling with the confidence to push and progress. That immediately changed with the telum. Small bump sensitivity....yes....big hit compliance....oh hell yes. Traction...more than I thought possible. I can throw the bike into a berm at speed and the telum takes it, settles into its compression but always seems to have more if you need it. If the megneg was a scary stalker ex girlfriend the telum is your ideal loving, supportive and encouraging current one who wants you to succeed. It remains playful but in a different, calmer more composed way. You can still bounce and pump off hits when needed yet it continues to provide traction. The HBO works fantastic especially considering how much I weigh and prevents any harsh banging at the end of the travel like I was getting with the megneg giving it an almost bottomless feel despite onky having 160mm of travel. The climbing lockout works incredibly well. You can literally feel the extra support and dampening when its flipped up providing just enough compliance to keep traction with zero pedal bob. It firms the shock right up and creates an almost dual personality to the telum. In the army we had a saying "slow is smooth and smooth is fast" and I think thats the perfect way for me to explain how the telum feels to me. It doesnt feel fast because it makes everything smooth but my brother's and sisters in bikes...it makes everything fast lol. In summary...amazing customer service and an amazing product. If you're on the fence get off it and get one. Read more Show less

This shock made my bike come alive. I can admit I was a bit nervous spending this much on a shock but my suspension guy told me it’s without a doubt the best shock on the market right now and boy oh boy was he ever right. Replaced the float x that came on this bike with the Telum and it completely changed how this bike rides and made me love the bike more than I already did. This is my first coil and I was a kind of expecting it to be glued to the ground at all times and not want to be playful or poppy but I was wrong. It’s glued to the ground everywhere you would want it to be but has no problem jibbing and popping off jumps and trail hits. Filled out the form when purchasing with all my information and the team at Vorsprung absolutely nailed it. Put it on the bike and haven’t touched a single dial on it. Its perfect. Couldn't be happier with it. 10/10 Read more Show less

I got a Telum for my GF to put on her TR11. The stock super deluxe was bouncy and blew through the travel too fast, traction wasn't great. She is beyond stoked with it. Telum means Fun! I'm a tinkerer. I'm not pro or anything just like to try out a lot of different things. This has changed my reference of what suspension can do. I had a similar experience when Steve tune my fork oh this many years ago but this on another level. The bike just stay stable on slow steeps, fast chunk, amazing traction on small slippery off camber wet root and rocks, fast big holes and yet I can boot it off of anything I want. Sure I turn the dials but it comes CUSTOM! I wouldn't say cheat codes like NSMB I'd say fun codes unlocked. You wanna let off the brakes more in sketchy Kootenay steeps? You wanna see what happens when try that side hit you've never seen before going mock chicken? You wanna try that tight sketchy like that doesn't seem like anyone should use it to line up that scary drop? Yep, and just hooting with joy for all of it! Read more Show less

Amazing transformation Just want to give the folks at Vorsprung a great big SHOUT OUT about how they helped me transform my Specialized Kenovo into the most plush, comfortable off road ride imaginable. I have ridden off road motorcycles for decades and have done almost all my own suspension work, so I knew what I liked (lite compression damping but heavier rebound damping). I finally found Vorsprung and ordered a Smashpot for my Fox 36 Rhythm. This transformed the front end! In my opinion, air is great to breath, but it is not so great as a spring. The build quality and adjustability of the Smashpot was so good I decided to go with their Telum rear shock instead of another brand. Needless to say, I was again stunned at the build quality. There was a small problem with the setup, called Tech Support, they gave me an immediate answer which solved the problem. Got it installed, and was thrilled by the results. I read about how "playful" and "lively" and "pop" this or that shock has. How Vorsrung actually INCREASED all that while making the ride plush at the same time is beyond me. It just WORKS! The rate adjuster on the spring is a masterpiece. And the onboard Specialized tool will set all the damping rates! And...even on lockout while climbing there is still some compliance! Get a Telum and you too can tell 'em all about it! Read more Show less

A true suspension masterpiece Performance, comfort, and Canadian pride 🇨🇦 I expected the Telum to be good… but I didn't expect it to exceed my expectations this much. From the very first rides, I was blown away. It offers a level of comfort and control I'd never experienced, even while keeping the same spring rate as my previous RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ Coil. It keeps the bike planted when you want grip, smooths out drops and impacts beautifully, and stays incredibly stable without needing to touch a single knob. Climbing efficiency is excellent too and I haven't even used the lockout yet! To top it off, it's designed and made in Canada additionally the machining quality is honestly work-of-art level. Mechanical beauty meets real performance. Big Thanks to the Vorsprung team for their outstanding craftsmanship and support. Read more Show less

A flawless work of engineering art Everything about this upgrade has been superb, starting from the purchase experience, through interactions with the Vorsprung team, and obviously the shock itself. Would give six stars if I could. My highlights are: - small bump sensitivity: another level compared to the stock shock and loads of composure - liveliness: plenty of expert articles out there saying air is more poppy... not with the Telum. Could be because you just go faster, the lack of any noticeable friction, but lifting the bike off the trail it's a breeze - the climb switch: it does seem to hit the perfect balance. Clearly noticeable, yet does not make the suspension inactive. - customized tuning: don't overstate your ability in the form (we all like to think we hit bigger jumps and steeper terrain... especially at my age >50) and you'll get a shock that works like a charm out the box. Bottom line, the whole bike is more fun to ride. Couple it with a smashpot v2 and you have the perfect rig, IMHO. Read more Show less

All I expected and more! First off, I've got the Smashpot coil kit in 2 forks right now because its amazing. So I figured this shock would follow suit. It has definitely delivered on my expectations and then some! The Vorsprung team was super helpful and asked a lot of insightful questions to dial in this shock correctly. I've never had this level of tuning, even with EXT or Push (though I know a lot shops do much more in-depth custom tuning too). I was able to slap this bad boy on my bike in no time and didn't need to make any adjustments off the bat except for increasing the spring weight a bit with the dial. My bike only has 120mm of rear suspension so the drop pictured here is enough to use all that up (usually ends up being about a 7ft drop to where you land). I did back to back drops off this and even went a little deep a few times and never felt like I was hitting bottom, though I know I was. HBO on this thing is next level. After this feature there is a short jump line that requires some pumping n popping. The shock had ample pop and didn't wallow in its travel when pumping. Climbing back up for another lap felt great and I didn't feel the need to hit the climb switch, though thats kind due to the SST being a solid climber. The climb mode is great and isn't a full lockout with some decent give so you can still have plenty of traction. I've only had a few days on it so I can't speak to its durability but it seems like solid unit when holding it in hand. The only drawback I experienced was that it hits my water bottle mid compression, so I'll need to rethink that set up. Maybe its a bit heavy when compared to an EXT but otherwise its inline with most coil shocks in terms of weight. Overall I am SUPER stoked on this thing and cant wait to ride it everywhere this summer! Read more Show less

The amount of traction and control you get with the Telum is pretty insane. If you're looking for a shock that gives you the confidence to take super sketcky lines and not loose rear wheel traction, this is it. The first time I used it I got the exact feel you get when you put a new rear tire... just super grippy and holds the line even in slippery off camber. Also worth noting that the rear end still feels snappy and playful. Well done Vorsprung! Read more Show less

Another incredible Vorsprung product. It's safe to say that given my experience with other Vorsprung products (corset, luftkappe and Secus) I had very high expectations for the Telum. Going through the process of giving Vorsprung my bike details and ride chatacteristic I wanted only increased these expectations, as it's a process I'd never been through before. Upon receiving my shock my first impression was that it had clearly been machined and built to the highest quality and has been designed to perform without the comprimise of reliability. My first ride was on one of my favourite trails in Whistler, Microclimate. My biggest first impression was how composed the shock felt, particularly when hopping into sections of trail I expected to feel harshness on landing. The bike felt settled and just wanted to keep moving forwards with ease. It's been really cool to also spend minimal time setting the shock setup, as the tune custom to myself and my bike is pretty much a bolt on and forget experience. With minor adjustments to speed it up a little. One thing j didn't anticipate utilizing much was the Sprindex. It's been cool to make on the fly adjustments depending on terrain. For example running it at 500lbs for faster less steep terrain and adjusting to 475lbs for slower steep stuff. The reliability has been flawless so far as well, having been ridden hard in Whistler for over 4 months now. Overall I couldn't be happier about my purchase, Steve and his team have knocked it out of the park with the Telum! Thank you. Read more Show less

I'm using high pressure for my tire tire like 28-30psi for DHcasing tire, the shock ribs off everything, and more grip than my other shocks. I have a bike shop, my main business is suspension service, I have so much demand on every shocks, I can't accept some shocks have wet shaft just few rides, I can say only Vorsprung Telum and Ohlins Ttx22 doing well at shaft and internal bushing. Especially the Telum great sideload supposed and highly adjustable for AM ride to Downhill racing in one shock. That's is my new experience I never had. Read more Show less

New: Telum V1.27 for yoke frames

The Telum V1.27 has a 1/2" (12.7mm) hardened steel shaft, built for yoke-driven frames specifically to withstand even the longest yokes. That includes popular bikes we used to turn down for the V1.0 Telum with its 10mm shaft, like the Specialized Turbo Levo Gen 3 and the Turbo Kenevo Gen 2.

  • 1/2" hardened steel shaft to stand up to any abuse, even with long yokes and heavy e-bikes
  • Bladder instead of an IFP, so there's no IFP friction at all
  • Standard eyelet at the shaft end that takes industry standard 1/2" bushings and hardware
  • Fully e-bike compatible, no rider weight limit
  • Ships with your personalized compression & rebound tunes and adjusters already set
  • Same market-leading Rapid Revalve technology as the Telum V1.0

Not sure which shaft your bike needs? The frame profile you select in the Tuning Form (click the button above Add To Cart) will automatically select the correct shaft size for your frame, or the Compatibility Checker can also tell you.

What sets the Telum apart?

Struggling to get your suspension feeling right? Unsure if it could be better? You're certainly not alone!

In fact, very few mountain bikers are truly satisfied with their suspension setup - especially on stock OEM equipment.

That's why we developed the Telum - because getting suspension right is our job, not yours.

The Telum comes Ready To Ride, fully customized for you and your bike, including:

  • The appropriate rate-adjustable Sprindex spring
  • Customized valving based on your personal requirements & bike kinematics
  • Personalized adjuster setting recommendations
  • Reducer hardware for your frame

All you need to worry about is where to ride next.

After ordering, please ensure you register & fill out a tuning form on the Vorsprung Tuning Hub. We'll use those inputs to tune your shock for you.

Pick your bike's brand, model and year to see if the Telum fits and which shock size and shaft you need.

Don't see your bike? Use the "My frame isn't listed" link in the checker, or email [email protected].

Ready to order? The frame profile you select in the Tuning Form (the button above Add to Cart) sets the right shaft size for you.

Where do we start?! The Telum is like nothing else you've seen on mountain bikes before.

The solid main piston means that unlike conventional shocks, no oil flows through the moving piston of the shock.

This means that all damping duties, including lockout, can be handled in the reservoir bridge - where our exclusive and patent-pending Rapid Revalve system is housed.

This in turn means that the shock valving can be set after the shock is built.

The polymer spherical bearings also isolate the shock from side loads, whilst being lighter and not susceptible to corrosion or noise like conventional metal spherical bearings.

Of course, all the niceties like LSC/HSC/Reb and even HBO adjustments are included, so you can tinker to your heart's desire should you want to explore what the Telum can feel like.

Ultimately, because Rapid Revalve enables us, our dealer network, or even YOU, to put you on a better setup in under 5 minutes. Conventional shocks need to be disassembled, re-shimmed, reasssembled, rebled, recharged with gas, and cleaned in order to fundamentally change the gradient of the damping curve across all speeds without either introducing (or altering) preload to the valve mechanism, or introducing/altering free bleed. This is a time consuming and expensive process, and opens up many opportunities for human error.

Rapid Revalve circumvents this entirely, by allowing anybody who's followed the 15 minute online training videos to easily change the fundamental stiffness of the shim stack without the need to disassemble, rebleed, repressurize and clean the shock. Rapid Revalve is also tolerance-insensitive - there's no clearance or float issues that require expensive tools and full teardowns to adjust, nor the inconsistencies that arise from trying to maintain low/zero float with low/zero clamping force.

This innovation allows for true personalization of the shock at or after the point of sale with ease and consistency, rather than "custom" tunes being shipped from the factory into the void with the hopes that it happens to line up with the rider's needs. On a technical level, Rapid Revalve also automatically sets the range of the adjusters in proportion with the valve stiffness. Just because we could.

The majority of "custom" tunes out there, both OEM and aftermarket, are mostly or entirely based on your frame's kinematics, because they're usually generated with no knowledge of exactly who the end user is. They have to assume you're the average rider, of average strength, riding the average terrain, and that you're of average weight, with average preferences, or preferences that happen to align with the team who developed the tune, even if they have unusual preferences themselves.

By contrast, the Vorsprung Tuning Hub generates spring rate recommendations, as well as damper tune specifications and recommended settings for the Telum according to every single unique bike/rider combination. It takes into account the objective factors, such as rider/bike weight and leverage rate curve, as well as subjective factors - such as your terrain type, how hard you ride, how strong you are, whether you're hitting big jumps, and simply whether you prefer a softer or firmer setup.

We also encourage you to upload a short video (a 10 second Iphone clip is fine) as that helps us gauge your riding and terrain a lot better than text.

You can! As a Telum owner, you'll be able to use the Tuning Hub view your shock's tuning data including the tuning history of your shock, what frame and rider parameters it's tuned for, the recommended settings, and the damper curves that result from that.

If you'd like to make changes to your own shock's valving, all the necessary training is available on the Tuning Hub for you to use Rapid Revalve to tune your own shock.

No problem! We'll change it until you do like it. Or you can simply re-tune it yourself!

Our Tuning Hub can determine spring rates in a few different ways:

  • You can rely on our recommendation, which will calculate the most appropriate spring rate for your bike in order for you to be able to use all your travel appropriately, and it'll calculate the sag for you from there.
  • You can specify a preferred sag percentage (if you know exactly how much you want)
  • Or, if you've already got a coil spring rate that you like on that bike, you can tell us what that is, and we can work with that.

On top of that, Sprindex springs allow you to adjust the spring rate by around 10-12% (eg from 450-500lbs/in) to maximize the chances of you getting exactly what you need.

However, mountain biking is a very personal thing when it comes to preferences, so if you find the spring we've recommended for you is too firm or too soft, let us know - we will work with you on a replacement spring. We don't offer exchanges though, sorry.

We get this kind of request fairly often.

Firstly, which damper curve would you like to see? There's well over 1000 of them in the Tuning Hub.

Secondly, how do you determine from looking at a 2D force vs velocity curve which shock is "better" than another, without all the rest of the context required?

It's not possible to make that claim with any validity, so we don't.

A claim we CAN back up though, is that our tuning process is more thorough and more personalized towards your specific application than you'll find anywhere else.

First, check the Frame Compatibility tab above to see if we've already confirmed fitment.

The Telum was built to fit a wide range of mountain bike and e-MTB frames and mounting systems, however there are so many frames with unique clearance concerns and so many unique shock mounting systems on the market that we know some will not fit, however we have not yet checked every frame out there.

Please email us directly with any questions regarding frame fitment - if we don't already have an answer for you immediately, we'll work with you to find out.

It means you can easily custom tune suspension for your customers with no guesswork, less hassle, and less risk than ever before.

You'll need to set up a dealer account with us and an account on the Tuning Hub (the two are not linked) where you'll be run through the online training in order to get access to the tuning system, then you're good to go.

If you haven't already checked the fitment chart to see if we've already checked it, check out the 3D CAD models and Frame/Shock Interface Design Guide HERE.

Whether you are a bike shop, suspension workshop or home mechanic, you'll be able to service the Telum if you meet the following criteria:

  • You have access to a vacuum bleeder
  • You have a nitrogen charging needle
  • You have typical suspension servicing tools and supplies
  • You can follow instructions and procedures to the letter
  • You understand that 5N.m is not the same as 5ft.lbs and that neither of those is the same as 5in.lbs
  • You have sufficient experience servicing complex shocks already

If this is you, then yes you can service the Telum - email us and we'll get you the information and parts required.

However, if you've never serviced a shock before, or don't have any of the tools above, the Telum is frankly not the place to start - it's a complex, highly advanced damper, and needs to be serviced by a competent and experienced technician.

Obviously, we cannot take responsibility for the outcome of work performed by others who we have not trained & authorized, meaning that if you attempt to service something at home and make mistakes that lead to damage, improper functioning or other failure, it will be your responsibility to fix it, at your own expense. This does not mean that we will refuse to provide information to help you, but if we have to repair a shock following a botched home service, it will be charged as a standard service plus any additional charges required for either additional parts or labour and will not be covered under warranty.

We are not yet publishing service information to the general public for this reason - not to obstruct people from working on their own bikes, but to ensure that nobody dives in without being fully aware of what they are getting themselves into.
